LCRC Project PI,
If you are the PI for an LCRC project (normal LCRC users can ignore this email), you are required to submit concise reports of the accomplishments for each of your LCRC projects (separately) during the 2024 fiscal year (Oct 2023-Sept 2024). These reports are very important. They document the impact of LCRC as a lab-wide facility for enabling research, and they are required to continue your project into FY2025. While writing your report, please remember that most of the audience, while technical, will not be expert in your field. Your project report(s) are due by Thursday, September 5th at 5:00 pm CDT. Material from selected reports may appear online or in electronic posters.
Reminder: do not include sensitive, proprietary, export-controlled, or classified information in your report. Here is a link to a sample report that contains all the elements we request at an appropriate level of detail.

You can submit your project report(s) by logging into the LCRC accounts page as we now have the yearly reporting built directly into the accounts page:
https://accounts.lcrc.anl.gov
On the first page after logging in, you should see list of projects that need a report. Alternatively, the navigation sidebar now has a link labeled 'Reporting' that has your list of missing, saved and submitted reports that you can access for each of your projects. For each report, you must complete all required fields marked in red and are encouraged to complete the other fields as well.
We recommend that you first draft the prose sections in a word processor or text editor, and then paste them into the web form. You cannot attach a pdf/doc file of your research accomplishments or submit documents to LCRC in any other electronic communication such as outside URLs. Such reports are unacceptable, and the project report will be deemed incomplete. Please cut-paste the information from such reports into the appropriate fields provided in the web-form. Once all the required fields are completed, the PI can 'Submit' the report to LCRC or "Save for later". The "Save for later" button is useful if a PI wants to add any additional information (such as publications) later before submitting the final version. Please note that a report is only received on our end once it is fully submitted.
Also, please include a list of publications, presentations and funding that are connected in some way to your use of LCRC, for the current year (Oct 2023 to Sept 2024). PLEASE FILL IN YOUR PUBLICATIONS IN THE APPROPRIATE CATEGORY USING THE DROP-DOWN MENU, ONE BY ONE. PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE LINK TO A WEBPAGE WITH YOUR PUBLICATIONS. SUCH REPORTS WILL BE DEEMED INCOMPLETE. Note: in all your publications and presentations, LCRC should be acknowledged, for example: "We gratefully acknowledge use of the Improv (and/or Bebop and/or Swing) cluster in the Laboratory Computing Resource Center at Argonne National Laboratory."
If your project was created on or after July 1, 2024, you are not required to submit a report, but we encourage you to do so if significant progress has already been made.
If you have any questions or find any issues with this process, please send them to support at lcrc.anl.gov.
PLEASE REMEMBER, YOUR TIME ALLOCATION FOR FY2025 (OCT 2024 TO SEPT 2025) WILL ONLY START AFTER YOUR COMPLETED FY2024 ANNUAL REPORT HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY LCRC.
Also keep in mind that the LCRC Allocations Committee may consider your report in its deliberations about FY2025 time requests.
Thank you,
LCRC Staff
